Britz & Company is known for providing high quality equipment for animal housing and management in biomedical research, zoos, and other related fields. Animal housing is directed primarily at the larger research animal species including, but not limited to: Primates, Cats, Dogs, Swine, Sheep, Calves and Rabbits. In all the animal housing equipment particular attention is directed toward animal comfort, safety and well-being as well as the safety and ergonomics of the equipment for the caregivers. Specialized management equipment includes: Isolation/Containment Cubicles, The Sipper Tube Washer, a variety of Mobile Sinks and Utility Boxes, and Animal Restraint and Transfer Units.

The founders of Britz & Company had completed highly successful careers in research, animal care and management, and laboratory animal veterinary care beginning in the late 1950's and early 1960's prior to starting the company in 1991. With this background and continuing involvement by the staff in the science of laboratory animal care and use, there is a clear understanding of the current animal care issues that affect the housing of captive animals. It is with this broad base of knowledge that the company designs, develops and fabricates animal care and management equipment, and improved animal caging in the form of the Britz, Environ-Richment® Animal Housing Systems.
